Which Herbal Tea is Best for Health?

There are numerous claims to the health benefits of herbal teas and most herbal and some fruit teas are naturally caffeine free which helps gives them a calming effect and makes them a great choice for anyone looking to restrict the amount caffeine in their diet.

Unlike black tea which comes from the camellia sinensis plant, herbal tea is produce from different plants known to have health benefits. Some of the plants used to produce herbal tea are;

  • chamomile
  • hibiscus
  • rosehip
  • peppermint
  • ginger
  • rooibos
  • dandelion
  • lemon balm
  • as well as other common herbs

All these herbs used in tea can have different effects on people and can be used to good effect.

Is Herbal Tea Good for You?

There have been many claims that Herbal tea may help relieve such things as;

  • an upset stomach
  • high blood pressure
  • help boost the immune system
  • act as an anti-inflammatory
  • increase levels of vitamin C
  • reduce inflammation
  • help reduce anxiety

 None of the suggested health benefits from herbal tea have been conclusively proven and must be treated carefully as towards actually producing a benefit to your health.

There are endless fruit flavoured teas and herbal teas but we have selected some of our favourite and most popular fruity teas and best herbal tea we have tried. Fruit tea and herb tea can enjoyed at any time of the day as a wake me up or as an effective calming drink before bed due to most herbal tea being caffeine free unlike most black tea. 

A lot of the fruit teas can also be made into iced tea infusions bursting with flavour and taste which are wonderfully refreshing during the summer. As with all tea the flavour you get from an individual depends greatly on how the tea is made.

To get the best results from your fruit infusion you should experiment with the amount of time you leave the tea to brew.
