FORMOSA LAPSANG SOUCHONG is a black tea, gently smoked to reveal hints of oak and pine. It has the smoky, earthy flavour of Lapsang but a stronger, heavier quality than the Chinese version. This tea is produced in Taiwan, which was formerly known as Formosa, by smoking the leaves over pine wood.
